Why doesn't my VIS terminator carbon fiber hood for my 03 tiburon fit?

The bolt that came with the terminator hood are too small & fall through the holes on my tiburon. & even after buying new bolts & finally getting the back bolted on, the hood doesn't close all the way (on to two inch gap). I think the vented slits are touching my engine cover & engine bay cover. Anyone else have this problem?
