What's the best way to find a receptionist job?

I'm a smart young girl who would be a great receptionist but I don't know where to start lookibng for a job, I mean besides the internet because usually those jobs applications are tricks to get your information to send you spam, I would like to go look for a job in person where should I start? I live in Oakland, CA. Is there any companies I can drive to to personaly apply at the office?
