The mouse is still alive - what kind of habitat should he live in?

when i kept an injured mouse (my stupid cat tried to kill him :() i put it in a cardboard box full of hay like what i put in my rabbit hutch. he seemed pretty content with that, im not sure what he;ll eat though sorry
