Has anyone ever used a crock pot to melt wax for candles?

I would love to make some candles and wondered if anyone ever used a crockpot or slow cooker to melt the wax?I am disabled and can't stand for very long at the stove.Non stick coating or regular on the cooker?Thanks for any insight.
